Asset Recovery Corporation is certified in the Responsible Recycling (R2) for Use in Accredited Certification Programs for Electronics Recyclers by SGS.

R2 dictates best-in-industry practices that cover issues ranging from employee health and safety to international concerns regarding social responsibility. This includes:

• Making reuse the highest priority of the organization, and minimizing disposal as a management strategy.
• Ensuring that employees are provided adequate health and safety training and resources.
• Making sure that the recycler has performed adequate downstream due diligence and can demonstrate that material is being sent to responsible vendors.
• Ensuring that eWaste is not being sent to non-OECD countries.
• Providing secure data destruction.

In 2009, Asset Recovery Corporation embarked on a mission to achieve certification from the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) for Computer and Hard Drive Sanitization Operation, including mobile and plant-based hard drive destruction. As of January 31, 2009, we achieved this certification and are one of a very limited number of companies currently certified in the United States.

Your legal compliance requires the type of scrutiny and verification system that NAID certified vendors offer. NAID auditors have verified the following:

• Persons with a known history of related crimes are not employed.
• Security and operations policies and procedures are written and followed.
• Destruction and sanitization equipment is functioning properly.
• Access to materials is restricted at all times.
• Containers and vehicles protect information from unauthorized access at all times during transport and processing.
• There is an audit trail, including CCTV image capture and retention, a thorough, documenting chain of custody, and insurance coverage.

Asset Recovery Corporation is certified in the ISO 14001: 2004 standard by SGS for the environmentally responsible handling of eWaste, which includes demanufacture, resale of electronics, and the separation of material into re-salable commodities. Official certification was achieved August 10, 2010.

The adoption of this rigorous international standard is part of Asset Recovery Corporation's dedication to environmental stewardship. We continuously develop, update, and improve programs that aim to better protect the environment.

The ISO 14001: 2004 standard demands that Asset Recovery Corporation:
